The theme of the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts' exhibition is "Trend Core", which showcases the creativity of young designers - they use clothing as a medium to deconstruct the surface symbols of traditional trends, reorganize the deep thinking about fashion, and explore the aesthetic core of contradictions and symbiosis in youth culture. Every inch of wrinkles and every cut show the artistic thinking and design ability of contemporary college students.
The 80 sets of outstanding student works exhibited in the graduation design show were created by 35 graduates from the Fashion Design School of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, including the clothing and apparel design, knitwear fashion design, and fashion, knitwear, and sports. The show was directed by teachers from the Fashion Performance and Promotion Department of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, and all 51 participating models were students majoring in fashion performance and promotion. The makeup design of the show was guided by teachers from the Fashion Design and Communication Department of the college. The clothing works in the show, with an international design perspective and diversified design creative concepts, reflect the teaching characteristics of SIVA's integration of ready-to-wear design and artistic creativity, aiming to cultivate design talents with design innovation and practical ability, reflecting the forward-looking thinking, exploration and innovation of the education model.

In the direction of fashion art design for the class of 2025, there is not only the interpretation of oriental visual elements, the reconstruction of national culture, but also the thinking on bionic design and the reproduction of childhood dreams. Designers use rich material language and exquisite craftsmanship, such as leather wet molding, 3D printing, aesthetic beading, creative crochet, etc., to tell the young soul's multi-dimensional annotation of the times.

Graduates of the knitwear fashion design major completed a groundbreaking graduation design exploration with the theme of "Symbiosis of warp and weft: Dialogue of skills in the AI era". Many works are not simply a superposition of skills, but while retaining the warmth of handicrafts, they outline the diverse possibilities of the digital transformation of traditional crafts of intangible cultural heritage.

The new generation of designers explored from multiple dimensions: some works took the concept of environmental protection as the starting point, calling for attention to environmental protection through the innovative application of fabric recycling; other designers put forward views from the perspective of humanities and arts, calling for attention to social issues through silhouettes, printing and other techniques; some works were inspired by the designer's personal unique experience, recreating unforgettable memories through symbolic techniques. In terms of technology and process application, designers used a variety of methods such as multi-material composite splicing, knitting and weaving, 3D printing technology, laser cutting technology, hand-dying technology, embroidery and beading technology, etc., showing in-depth exploration and thinking in the context of the scientific and technological innovation era of "the future has come", and fully demonstrated the innovative achievements under the characteristics of master empowerment and the combination of industry, academia and research.
